The exhibition Beyond the Drawing shows the wealth of current artist graphic positions in Berlin: exuberant pictorial narrative and strict reduction, figuration and abstraction, documentation and site inspection, illusion and its elimination, microscopic and generous, drawing as a performance, in books, in space or in animated film. Whether on paper or in connection with other media: the drawing goes beyond itself and transcends borders. The Berlin drawing scene also includes project rooms, magazines, networks and websites that deal with drawing and its expansion. Some of these projects are presented in the exhibition as examples.

Curated by Katja Pudor and Matthias Beckmann

Opening on May 6, 2022 from 7 p.m

Welcome: Frank Bewig, District Councilor

Introduction: Ralf F. Hartmann, Head of the Cultural Office and Exhibition Manager
